News Summary

A senior U.S. official stated that some North Korean soldiers are choosing to commit suicide instead of surrendering to Ukrainian forces during combat in Russia’s Kursk region. Meanwhile, Ukraine has reported cases of the North Korean military "executing" its soldiers to avoid their capture.

“These North Korean soldiers appear to be highly indoctrinated, pushing attacks even when it is clear that those attacks are futile,” White House National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby told a briefing on December 27.

“We also have reports of North Korean soldiers taking their own lives rather than surrendering to Ukrainian forces, likely out of fear of reprisal against their families in North Korea in the event that they’re captured,” Kirby added.

Kirby also mentioned North Korean human wave tactics “haven’t really been all that effective.”

Commentary

Kirby's remarks underscore the harsh reality faced by North Korean soldiers dispatched to Russia, where they are compelled to take their own lives if captured by Ukrainian forces, driven by the fear of retaliation against their families in North Korea.

It only shows how evil Kim Jong Un is as a dictator, sacrificing his people for his regime's survival through severe indoctrination and manipulation.

Although Kim currently enjoys his renewed relationship with Vladimir Putin at the expense of his soldiers' blood to secure his regime, his brutal decision will ultimately bring repercussions for him, even to the point of regime collapse.

The time is coming when Kim's military will no longer tolerate this wicked act and will refuse to be meaningless sacrifices for their ruthless dictator.
