News Summary
On Sunday, North Korean state media reported that the North Korean military has ordered artillery units at the border to get fully ready to open fire due to their claim of South Korea's alleged drone flights carrying anti-North Korea propaganda leaflets over Pyongyang.
In response, South Korea's defense ministry issued a warning on Sunday that if North Korea poses any harm to South Korean people, it will face "the end of its regime."
On Monday, South Korea's unification ministry said that North Korea may have come up with a "abrupt" claim about the alleged drone flights in order to strengthen its internal unity and tighten control over its population by escalating tensions with South Korea.
Commentary
North Korea's abrupt assertion regarding the drone flights is a part of its ongoing efforts to cut off any connection with the South among its populations and to tighten control over its people, especially its military stationed at the border who have been exposed to anti-North Korea broadcasts and K-pop music.
It seems that, at this point, escalating military tensions is the only option left for the Kim regime to tighten its grip over its people who are fed up with Kim's failed leadership and are awakened by the spreading of outside information.
At the same time, North Korea aims to sow confusion and discord in South Korean society with the goal of removing President Yoon from office, aided by its supporters in South Korea.
North Korea will likely continue to increase military tensions against the South until either the Yoon administration backs down from its strong stance against the North or President Yoon is impeached.
As history tells, the only way to deal with a bully is to stand our ground and keep fighting until they are defeated. True peace and prosperity in the Korean Peninsula will not come through compromise but through courage and endurance. Keep fighting. The end of the Kim regime is near.
